About Us
When our son was born two years ago we were both excited and scared. My husband held him for the first time, and he quietly said, "Hi Bub." From that moment on, Quentin has been known as "Bub". We received many burp cloths as gifts, but none as great as the handmade ones from a dear family friend, Karen. When Bub got a little bit older, he turned the burpie into a blankie. He still carries them around daily. He rubs the satin ribbon and drags it on most of our journeys. They were a hidden treasure amongst the many gifts we'd received.

I started making them for friends who were having babies. They loved them, too. And Babybub was born. I usually have some crafty project going. So when I decided to make these, I had to learn to sew. It has been fun and challenging ever since. I have a newfound appreciation for garments and for those who create them. We started Babybub because we have always wanted to own our own business. We think this is a good way to start.

About Monica:  Monica Williams, creator and founder of BabyBUB, is a mom first, entrepreneur second. When she is not hard at work starting a business, she is chasing her rambunctious toddler, who inspired the development of Oopsies. He always has one close by when comfort or clean up is needed. While Bub, as he is often called, is Monica’s first child, he is not the only child she has cared deeply about. A graduate of California State University, Long Beach, she worked as a Children’s Social Worker for Los Angeles County Child Protective Services. She still spends much of her time advocating and caring for the environment because of her strong desire to protect children’s long term well being.

A California native, Williams is active in promoting green living. She has participated in water quality testing, helped create a marine protected area and supports the Shipley Nature Center in her community. Personally, she used cloth diapers to avoid contributing to landfills, planted a water wise garden, and regularly composts household organic waste. She helps over stressed mothers unwind and regain the energy to parent their children well as a Certified Massage Therapist. Oopsies, are a home grown product assembled and sewn in the United States designed to be a safe, sturdy substitute for the throw away items used on today’s babies. She hopes to build a business for her own family and for all the families of tomorrow.
